I loved the contrast of the lone tree with golden autumn leaves against the muted colours of the rest of the snowy landscape and river. and I found that it made a very pretty scene

but the presence of sheep on the hill mingling with walkers and visitors is especially charming

This is an original oil painting of Cogges Manor Farm in Witney (Oxfordshire) painted during my Artist Residency on a summer day when the dappled sunlight fell through the trees by the white gate

I wanted to capture the mood and movement of the goat and place him centrally in the green of the field where he stands
