Los Feliz TheatreAs you may know by now, I have a soft spot for Los Angeles theatres, and this one in Los Feliz immediately won me over when I saw it in person. The neighbourhood is already beautiful on its own, but then you turn a corner and there it is: this historic, deep purple landmark glowing with bright green neon. I remember just standing there for a moment, taking it all in. Its one of those buildings that feels almost cinematic in real life, and I knew

and it was incredible walking around and learning about all the movie history tucked into every corner

I later learned that this particular location is near UCLA

I originally illustrated the Stahl House as a way to escape my own dreary surroundings

This was the first In-N-Out piece I ever worked on

I even mentioned I’d done some design work for the Bowl

the obsession was already there

and she was the overworked

I remember being amazed the first time I saw a cherry placed on top of my milkshake

places that take the experience seriously and make it feel special from start to finish

the bridge became an unmistakable part of the city’s visual language before being dismantled in 2016 due to age and seismic concerns

so the building is deliberately “imperfect
